We have instituted quality control procedures into our production processes, as we recognise that they are essential to the quality of our food products. Our quality control procedures seek to ensure that the quality of our food products meets the expectations of our customers and that our products have a low defect rate. We also maintain our customers’ profiles and set up service hotlines to enable us to obtain feedback on the quality of our products from our customers. Our quality assurance procedures and control policies are implemented according to the ISO 9001 guidelines. In October 2004, we obtained the ISO 9001:2000 certification from Beijing Sanxing Quality Certification Body in respect of the production of our potato starch and potato starch-based products.

We have received a number of awards and certifications by various accreditation bodies in the PRC for the quality of our products.

In addition to the awards and certification garnered by our products, as further testimonies to the quality of our products, we were awarded the Nuisance Free Food of Heilongjiang Province by the Green Food Development Centre of Heilongjiang Province. Our "碧港" brand of potato starch, vermicelli and starch strip also received the Provincial No Public Hazard Food Products Certificate. Such certification allows us to use the label of "no public hazard food" on our potato starch, vermicelli and starch strip. In September 2004, our "碧港" brand of potato starch, vermicelli and starch strip further received the Nuisance Free Food of PRC from the Quality and Safety Centre for Agricultural Products of the Department of Agriculture.

As a pre-requisite to such certifications, our production facilities and products had to satisfy the relevant national criteria and requirements, including those concerning production environment, facilities, procedures, technology and management, as well as quality control measures. The receipt of these certifications is evidence of the quality of our production control and of our products.

Besides our in-house quality control procedures, we are also required to comply with the industrial and national standards implemented by the relevant authorities in the PRC.

As a testament to our commitment to quality control, our Group has not experienced any product returns by our customers due to defective or sub-standard food products or any adverse claims against our food products.
