Potato starch is essential as a universal binding and food thickening agent. Leveraging on our expertise in potato starch production, we began producing modified potato starch that is specially customised for various applications in food, textile and paper manufacturing industries.
To produce modified potato starch, we extract 'raw' starch from potatoes and further refine their key physical or chemical properties for varying functions, for instance, to increase stability against excessive heat, acid and freezing during processing, to lengthen or shorten gelatinization time, and to create a wider range of textures such as greater viscosity than regular potato starch.
Noted for its adhesive ability to bind and thicken, the versatile modified potato starch is used for a myriad of industrial applications including adhesion, clouding, dusting, foam strengthening, gelling, glazing, molding, and shaping, particularly in the paper, textile and plastics industries.
