Executive Chairman and CEO Co-founder
Mr Zhao assumes overall responsibility
for the management of China Essence,
bringing more than 17 years' experience
in the food industry to the business.
From 1993 to 1995, Mr Zhao held
positions as a technician, businessman,
assistant head of production and vicegeneral
manager of sales at Beijing City
Huaxiang Vermicelli Factory.
Between 1995 and 1998, Mr Zhao was
a sales manager at Zhengzhou Hepeng
Food Products Trading.
Most recently, Mr Zhao was a sales
general manager at Zhengzhou Jiabei
Trading Co., Ltd., before acquiring
Daqing Bigang and establishing China
Essence in 2001. |

Executive Director General Manager, Production
Mr Li has been appointed as Executive
Director of China Essence Group
Ltd. with effect from 7 June 2010.
overseeing the operations and the
management of China Essence's
production department. Prior to
this, he had been the Director and
General Manager of Daqing Essence
Starch Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of China
Essence, since 2005. Before joining China Essence, Mr Li
was Deputy General Manager of PICC,
Daqing branch from 1985 to 1995.
From 1995 to 1997, he was Deputy
Director of Township Enterprise
Bureau of Lindian County in Daqing
City of the Heilongjiang Province.
After which, he held the post of
Chief Offi cer of Planning Committee
(agricultural products) of the Daqing
Municipal Government from 1997
to 1999. From 1999 to 2005, he was
Deputy General Manager of Daqing
Jinluo Stock Co., Ltd.

Executive Director Vice-General Manager, Sales and Marketing
Mr Wang oversees our Group's sales
and marketing eff orts for potato starch
and potato starch-based products. Prior to joining China Essence in
2001, Mr Wang was a salesman and
manager of the sales department at
Henan Lixin Starch Strips Facilities
Manufacturing Company from 1994
to 2000.

Independent Director
Dr Shen provides strategic corporate
advisory and oversees marketing and
production in the Company. Between 1993 and 2000, he was project
manager at Beijing Dasbro Co. Ltd.,
where he successfully established the
fi rst complex potato chips production
facility in China. From 2002 to 2005,
he served as a project manager at Fujian
Fuma Foods Group Co., a company
engaged in the manufacture and sale of
food products. Dr Shen lectured at the China
Agricultural University since 1992
where he was an Associate Professor of
Economic and Management College
for 7 years before transferring to the
Humanities and Development College
in 1999. Dr Shen holds a Doctor of Economics
and Management from China
Agricultural University, a Doctor of
Philosophy from Hohenheim University
in Germany, a Masters Degree in
Economics and Management from Beijing
Agricultural University, and a Bachelor's
Degree in Agricultural Economics from
Beijing Agricultural University.

Independent Director
Mr Er is currently an Executive Director
of East Asia School of Business. In his 27 year career in the Singapore government
civil service, he served in various
positions in the Ministry of Defence, the
Public Service Commission, Ministry of
Finance, Ministry of Environment. He
also served as Permanent Secretary of the
Ministry of Education and the Ministry
of Community Development.
Mr Er has also held a number of public
sector appointments, including council
member of the National University
of Singapore and deputy chairman
of the Singapore Sports Council.
Currently, Mr Er is chairman of the Toa
Payoh Central Citizens' Consultative
Committee and a member of the
Bishan-Toa Payoh Town Council. Mr
Er is a board member of the National
Environment Agency and serves as
chairman and director of various
Singapore government-linked companies.
Since March 2001, Mr Er has been
Chairman of Unidux Electronics Ltd and
currently holds directorships at COSCO
Corporation (Singapore) Ltd, Firstlink
Investment Corporation Ltd, Th ai
Prime Fund Ltd and Vita Holdings Ltd.
Mr Er also sits on the board of private
companies such as ASKnLearn Pte Ltd.

Independent Director
Mr Lai has more than 24 years of
experience in asset management,
treasury management, private banking,
investment banking and private
equity investments. He is currently
the Managing Director of Tembusu
Partners Pte Ltd, a fund management
fi rm that invests in growth-stage
companies in the oil & gas, base
metals reprocessing and education
sectors. Previously, he has worked for
the Monetary Authority of Singapore,
Deutsche Bank, Societe Generale,
Citigroup and OCBC Bank.
Mr Lai is also a panel member of the
Inquiry and Disciplinary Committee
of the Singapore Law Society, an
editorial board member of the CFA
Digest, and a board member of the
Singapore Chinese Orchestra. Mr Lai
is a CFA issued by The CFA Institute
in USA and a fellow of Chartered
Institute of Marketing in UK.
Mr Lai graduated from University
of Cambridge, England with a BA
(Honours) degree in economics.
