Executive Chairman and CEO Co-founder
Mr Zhao has overall responsibility for the management of China Essence, bringing close to 15 years' experience in the food industry to the business. From 1993 to 1995, Mr Zhao held different positions as a technician, businessman, assistant head of production and vice-general manager of sales at Beijing City Huaxiang Vermicelli Factory. Between 1995 and 1998, Mr Zhao was a sales manager at Zhengzhou Hepeng Food Products Trading. Most recently, Mr Zhao was a sales general manager at Zhengzhou Jiabei Trading Co., Ltd., before acquiring Daqing Bigang Starch Co., Ltd. and establishing China Essence Group Ltd. in 2001. |

Executive Director General Manager, Production
Mr Tang has overall management of operations, overseeing the management of our production department. Mr Tang rose through the ranks of the People's Liberation Army of the PRC from 1974 to 1995, rising to the rank of lieutenant colonel battalion commander and eventually heading the projects and items department of the Shenyang Army Area, Logistics Unit. Before joining China Essence, Mr Tang was the general manager and manager of the customer service and development departments of the Heilongjiang branch offi ce of Pingan Insurance Company of China from 1996 to 2004. He was named "Best Individual of the Year" in 2001 and 2004.

Executive Director Vice-General, Sales and Marketing
Mr Wang oversees our Group's sales and marketing efforts for potato starch and potato starch-based products. Prior to joining China Essence in 2001, Mr Wang was a sales manager of the sales department at Henan Lixin Starch Strips Facilities Manufacturing Company from 1994 to 2000.

Independent Director
Dr Shen provides strategic corporate advisory and oversees marketing and production in the Company. From 2002 to 2005, he served as a project manager at Fujian Fuma Foods Group Co., a company engaged in the manufacture and sale of food products and was project manager at Beijing Dasbro Co. Ltd. from 1993 to 2000, where he successfully established the first complex potato chips production facility in China. Dr Shen has lectured at the China Agricultural University since 1992 where he was an Associate Professor of Economic and Management College for 7 years before transferring to the Humanities and Development College in 1999. Dr Shen holds a Doctor of Economics and Management from China Agricultural University, a Doctor of Philosophy from Hohenheim University in Germany, a Master Degree in Economics and Management from Beijing Agricultural University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Economics from Beijing Agricultural University. |

Independent Director
Mr Er is currently an Executive Director of East Asia School of Business. In his 27-year career in the Singapore government civil service, he served in various positions in the Ministry of Defence, the Public Service Commission, the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Community Development, including Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Community Development. Mr Er has also held a number of public sector appointments, including council member of the National University of Singapore and deputy chairman of the Singapore Sports Council. Currently, Mr Er is chairman of the Toa Payoh Central Citizens' Consultative Committee and a member of the Bishan-Toa Payoh Town Council. Mr Er is a board member of the National Environment Agency and serves as chairman and director of various Singapore government-linked companies. Since March 2001, Mr Er has been chairman of Unidux Electronics Ltd and currently holds various directorships, including COSCO Corporation (Singapore) Ltd, Firstlink Investment Corporation Ltd, Thai Prime Fund Ltd and Vita Holdings Ltd. Mr Er also sits on the board of private companies such as ASKnLearn Pte Ltd.

Independent Director
Mr Lai is currently Managing Director of Tembusu Partners Pte Ltd, a private equity investment firm in Singapore providing fund management services. In addition, he holds directorships in a number of public and private companies. Mr Lai has more than 25 years' experience in both the public and private finance sectors. He started his career at the Monetary Authority of Singapore in 1980 and subsequently moved on to the private sector where he held senior management positions at various global financial institutions, including Morgan Grenfell Asia & Partners Securities, SocGen-Crosby Securities, Citigroup Private Bank and OCBC Private Bank. In 1998, Mr Lai founded his own private equity and investment advisory firm, providing advisory services to both local institutions and listed firms on asset management, financial restructuring and mergers & acquisitions. Mr Lai has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a Masters of Arts from the University of Cambridge in England, majoring in Economics. He is also an accredited Chartered Financial Analyst with the CFA Institute in the USA and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing in the UK.
